Out of the blue the Pacific went calm as the 4th round got underway. When the first wave finally rose above the kelp beds, Frenchman Timothee Creignout hit long noserides and massive turns for a sweet score. Ned Snow with so much power, flow and control that the judges rewarded him a perfect 10. Brazilians Eduardo Bage and Alex Salazar also rampaged into the quarters. They joined Marseille maestro Antoine Delpero, who beat the hyper talented Bryce Young in an exceptionally close affair. The highest-octane exchange came between Taylor Jensen and Matthew Moir, both riding like champions.

Searing Santa Ana offshore winds blew in for the Oxbow World Longboard Tour on dady three and the action in the water was white hot for round 3. From November 5th to 9th this year, the American stage of the Oxbow World Longboard Tour took place on the beach of San Onofre.
Far back in the history of surfing, longboards were the first surfboards shaped by men, the ancient Hawaiians, who surfed on these massive wooden boards. Today, longboarding embodies that board-riding tradition. But longboarding is also synonymous with modernity. Thanks to technical progress, the 21st- century longboard allows us to surf all kinds of waves, yet retain all the natural elegance of this style of surfing.
